Nashville Pussy - Heavy MTL August 10, 2014 Montreal

Well I meant to post a big ass review of the whole Heavy MTL 2014 Fest in Montreal soon after the show in August, but between work and all the other shows I saw last year (it was a pretty banner concert year for me), shit got backed up.

So I'm gonna try and bang out a bunch of photo sets with maybe a little write up of the shows to get all caught up.  Can't think of a better way to start than one of the highlights of the festival - Nashville Pussy!

There was a bit of a lineup change since the last time I saw them at The Loft in Poughkeepsie NY in 2011 with The Supersuckers opening.  At that gig, Eddie Spaghetti filled in on bass with Blaine Cartwright on vocals/guitar, Ruyter Suys on lead guitar and Jeremy Thompson on drums.  Bonnie Buitrago is now the bassist and is a perfectt fit for the band (no disrespect to Mr. Spaghetti of course.)

They always kick ass and were a great start to my second day in Montreal.  They hit the stage right around 1pm in the brutal summer sunlight (it was ridiculously hot when the sun was out and absolutely beautiful when it was hidden behind the clouds).  They played a killer 45 minute set on the Apocalypse stage towards the back of the island park (which was also where the best food at the fest was available...this killer BBQ...who woulda thunk it in Montreal).  A great mix of stuff from "Go Motherfucker Go" to "Gonna Hitchhike Down to Cincinnati and Kick The Shit Outta Your Drunk Daddy" and "The South's Too Fat To Rise Again".  Yes, Nashville Pussy not only rock, but have some of the best song titles around.

They killed it and I had no question I made the right choice to watch their whole set instead of cutting out for Exodus on one of the two main stages (I hauled ass there right when they ended and caught everything from "Toxic Waltz" to the end.)

It was a great time and well here's a ton of photos (click on any of them to super size them).  When you're done click the link and go to the MostPeopleAreBlank Facebook page and like/join/follow to be kept up to date on all the upcoming posts as well as contests and giveaways.  Also feel free to go there to post any comments.  Enjoy and Rock On - Paul
