RIP Roky Erickson - Performances from MELTASIA Festival - September 9, 2017

I'm currently working back through some of the shows I have photos and videos from and I heard the news that Roky Erickson of the 13th Floor Elevators fame passed away.

Roky headlined Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the awesome Meltasia festival at the Blackthorne Resort in East Durham that year.

I was a few feet away and took a few crappy stills with my iphone, but a couple of great videos.

Here's a full performance of Roky doing the 13th Floor Elevators "Roller Coaster".

He followed that with the 13th Floor Elevators "Thru The Rhythm".  This video is a minute of him performing that while I pan over and show some of the wacky mayhem going on right next to the stage that is typical of Meltasia.

Thanks Roky for rockin' us right into Sunday morning.  Rest in Peace.
